Déjà vu - Strappado Wrack - John O. Brennan: CIA Drone Director

Well, Barak Obama got his wish on the second try. With the confirmation of John Owen Brennan by the Senate, the CIA has a new director from their own ranks. "Brennan's 25 years with the CIA included work as a Near East and South Asia analyst, as station chief in Saudi Arabia, and as director of the National Counterterrorism Center." He proudly attests, "I'm neither Republican nor Democrat. I've worked for the past five administrations." Imagine a non-partisan spook as D/CIA. If this development is intended to restore confidence in the agency, just what kind of organization will emerge from a careerist covert agent at the helm?

Déjà vu - Inherent Autonomy - Assault on Liberty Originate with Secular Humanism

The most endangered concept and foundation of the American Republic is LIBERTY. The entire validity and purpose of government is to advance and protect individual natural rights. Natural law is the only supreme canon to base government upon and organize society. Our common law tradition rests upon natural law.  Western civilization’s essence is intrinsic in the inherent autonomy of each human being. Our universal nature bestowed from God. Life is not an accident, but is a gift. Christian ethics, values and teachings are synonymous with the founding of our nation. Thomas Jefferson states, "The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time." (A Summary View of the Rights of BritishAmerica).

Déjà vu - Radical Reactionary - Free Trade Created the Chinese Model

East will never meet the West of Adam Smith. China never had a culture or tradition of respecting individual human rights. Why would anyone assume that a regime that houses worker slaves in huge chicken coops would adopt a fair trade economy? The Chinese juggernaut is a creature of Western creation. The Red Dragon never reflects the noble contributions of wealth development that grew a stable middle class and spread the fruits of democratic principles. The Chinese model is a harbinger of the global gulag and the coerced society designed to demolish cherished Western Civilization values and liberties. The masters of political confrontations have found a better way than waging world wars for imposing their planetary dominance.

Déjà vu - Global Gulag - Metropolis Melodrama

Often civilization is viewed as the embodiment of urban architectural achievements. Buildings may be marvelous tributes to engineering and design, but glass and steel never create the soul of a society. The cosmopolitan culture that passes for urbane sophistication usually has flaws that many city inhabitants fail to recognize. While the crime, congestion and pollution are familiar ingredients, few comprehend that another form of contamination resides in their assembled utopia.

Déjà vu - Strappado Wrack - Groupthink in Service of Government

If the human race survives into the future, the history of the current age will be entitled – A Love Affair with Authority. As the 21st century unfolds, the existential struggle between group worship of government and an inherent autonomy revolt against a popular culture of state obedience seems to forecast doom for civilization. By any measurable standard of success, the prospects of rescuing a society based upon human dignity and natural law is vanishing in a technocratic system of coerced compliance and punitive punishment. The limits of individual behavior are severely restricted to the requirements of the State and the willful confines of self-induced conformity.

Déjà vu - Inherent Autonomy - Human Liberty Is Doomed

Any discussion on liberty presupposes an understanding of human nature. Today, the utter confusion and distorted mindset of humankind, relegates animal instincts, as the premier motivation for salacious existence. The criteria for a cordial civilization have long been "consigned to the dustbins of history". Standards for civil and moral conduct are debased by a global disintegration to achieve the ‘good’ for the hunt of acting ‘nice’. Polite and pleasant facades are no substitute for truth and meaning. Yet, the heights of evil transactions seem to be hailed routinely, as the only achievement that power hungry sociopaths aspire to impose on the rest of the planet. Never-ending conflict is inherent in the human condition, while the state of liberty is unusual and resides within the character of the ethical spirit.
